Services

How we can help

Two services and no fixed packages. Use the platform on its own, hand us a whole product, or bring us in for the part your own team does not want to own. We start from where your project already is.

The old way to buy this was to hire an electronics bureau, a firmware contractor and a cloud vendor, then pay a system integrator to make the three of them agree. We do all of it, which is why our customers report a shorter time to market.

Every project is delivered open. You get the schematics, the PCB source, the firmware and the interface code. If you later want to move manufacturing elsewhere, nothing in the contract stops you.

01 Connectivity as a service

BlueCherry.io platform

Put your devices on an encrypted IoT platform that keeps no private data in the cloud, with a management portal in your own brand and firmware updates over the air.

If your product already exists and the gap is connectivity, this is the shortest route. BlueCherry gives your devices secure remote access, a management portal you can put your own brand on, notifications by email, SMS, voice call and push, and a proper over-the-air update path. You fix a fleet in the field instead of sending a van.

It is a platform, not a lock-in. Nothing private is stored in the cloud, the device keeps working when the connection does not, and a transparent single monthly price means no bill that scales with your success in ways you did not plan for. Servers run in a Belgian data centre.

We connect the devices with you, or hand you the client and the documentation and let your own team do it. Either way you keep the option of walking away, because there is no data hostage to negotiate over.

What the platform gives you

  • Secure remote access

Encrypted connections to every device, with the device invisible on the public network. Local response on a direct connection, roughly 30 ms streamed over the internet.

  • White-label BlueApp

A management portal and mobile app in your own branding, so your customers see your product and not our platform.

  • Firmware over the air

An OTA daemon and update pipeline, so a security fix or a new feature reaches an installed base without a site visit.

  • Alarms that reach a person

Email, SMS, push notification and a virtual phone call, so a temperature out of range at 03:00 wakes the right technician.

  • Data that stays yours

No private device data in the cloud, GDPR compliant by design, servers in Belgium, and an integration path into your own ERP.

  • Protocols you already use

BlueCherry tunnel, HTTPS, WebSockets, MQTTS, SFTP, SCP, CoAP over DTLS, raw UDP and raw TCP, with new bridges added when a project needs one.

02 One partner, whole product

IoT development engineering

Electronics, firmware, interfaces, certification and series production for a connected product, from a written project study through to devices leaving the line.

This is our engineering practice, and it is deliberately one service rather than five. Hardware design, embedded firmware, user interfaces, compliance and manufacturing are not separable in a connected product. The decision you make about the radio changes the enclosure, and the decision you make about the enclosure changes the antenna. Splitting them across suppliers is how projects get expensive.

We have more than fifteen years of experience in hardware design, with a focus on digital and high speed work, and we write everything from bare metal firmware to the HTML5 interfaces your customers actually touch. We can design a complete product, or work alongside your own engineers on the part they do not want to own.

Everything is delivered open. You receive the schematics, the PCB source, the firmware and the interface code. Our building blocks give the project a head start, but they are not a condition. If a custom design is the better answer for your product, we will tell you so.

Capabilities inside this service

  • Electronics and PCB design

Analog and digital circuit design, high speed and multilayer layout, high density BGA, and design for EMC from the first schematic rather than after the first failed test.

  • Embedded firmware

Bare metal and RTOS work on STM32F, nRF52 and ESP32 targets, and full Linux stacks on the OpenWrt toolchain. Our own embedded libraries are open to you, which removes weeks of groundwork.

  • Interfaces and cloud

HTML5 interfaces that run on any modern device with no app to install and maintain, mobile applications in Flutter and React, and scalable back end services where a project needs them.

  • CE and FCC certification

Pre-compliance EMC measurements in a nearby anechoic chamber, remediation of what fails, and the route to an accredited lab. Where a product fails a compliance test, we track down the cause and fix it.

  • Prototyping to series production

Design for manufacturing, supplier selection, SMT and through hole assembly, X-ray inspection, firmware flashing, functional test and complete product assembly. Production in Europe, from 25 pieces a year upwards.

  • Review and consulting

A second opinion at a design decision, a review of a board your own team laid out, or an expert on site for a phase. Not every project needs us to build the whole thing.

How a project runs

Specification, iteration, certification, production

The same four stages on a sensor node and on a machine controller. What changes is how long each one takes.

  1. 01

    Project study

Our engineers listen to what the device has to do, then write it down. Functions, interfaces, power budget, radio choice, certification route, bill of materials direction, cost envelope. You approve a document, not a slide deck, and you know what you are buying before development starts.

  2. 02

    Iterative development

Work is split into small increments on a shared collaboration platform, so you can follow progress day by day and change direction while it is still cheap. Hardware and firmware advance together. That is the only way to catch the problems that live between them.

  3. 03

    Compliance and certification

We run pre-compliance EMC measurements ourselves in a nearby anechoic chamber, fix what fails, then take the design to an accredited lab. Building on a radio module that is already certified keeps the scope, the cost and the risk of that step small.

  4. 04

    Series production and support

Design for manufacturing, supplier selection, assembly, firmware flashing, functional test. Production runs in Europe, from series as small as 25 pieces a year, and scales with your sales. Field support and firmware updates continue after handover.
