Connected products we designed, built and still support. Machine control, cold chain monitoring, maritime data, livestock, lifts, care robotics and public information. Different sectors, the same building blocks underneath.

Each of these started with a company that knew its own field extremely well and needed the electronics, the firmware and the connectivity to catch up. In most cases the result was not only a better product, but a new service the customer could sell.

Challenge
CAME automates entrances: gates, barriers, garage doors, industrial doors, turnstiles and automatic doors. Managing each of those separately is workable at one gate and unworkable across a site. CAME wanted a single control system that scales from one gate with a card reader to a multi-site installation with up to 10,000 users per site, that an installer can commission without involving the customer IT department, and that keeps working when the internet does not.
What we built
CAME and DPTechnics developed the ACS01, a DIN-rail control unit that drives every kind of entrance from one platform, in Ethernet, WiFi and 4G variants, powered over PoE or 12 to 24 V. It is managed from a web app, so there is no software to install and no specialist to hire, and the configuration is guided. The design is deliberately local-first: the software and all sensitive data live in the panel itself, which supports GDPR compliance and keeps the system running without a connection. Panels back each other up automatically, and a replacement module takes its configuration from the others without interrupting the site. On the hardware side there are four relay outputs, four configurable inputs, two Wiegand ports, RS232 and RS485 for UHF antennas and QR readers, CAN bus, an SD card and USB, and it accepts both CAME readers and third-party Wiegand devices.
Result
One platform now covers a single gate and a complex multi-site structure, which raises the security level and cuts the cost of managing it. Installers deploy and extend a system from the web app with no IT involvement, self-diagnosis and remote management make intervention immediate, and the automatic reconfiguration turns swapping a module into a maintenance task rather than a site outage. ACS01 runs in office buildings, apartment complexes and sports centres, and in campsites, construction sites, warehouses and locker rooms.

FaraConnect: every cooling installation online

Challenge
Refrigeration installers look after cooling cells, freezer cells and refrigerated furniture that span decades of technology. Some run modern RS485 controllers, some already have a registration system, some are standalone cabinets with nothing to talk to. Bringing all of it online normally means network configuration at every customer site, which is exactly what an installer cannot do at scale.
What we built
We built FaraConnect as a portal plus three gateways, so the installer picks the one that matches what is already on the wall. The RS485 Gateway puts existing cooling controllers online for remote management, commands and logging. The Forwarder Gateway makes an existing registration system securely reachable online without port forwarding or dynamic DNS. The wireless LoRa Gateway pairs with battery-powered sensors for temperature and humidity over long distances, for cabinets and cells that no cable will reach. The portal shows real-time temperatures and graphs, the status of every installation, and lets basic parameters be changed remotely on RS485-connected controllers.
Result
Installers and their customers log in to the same portal, each in their own role, and see the whole estate in one place. Automatic temperature reporting, plus alerts on high temperature, low temperature and devices going offline, turn a monitoring product into a service the installer can sell. Temperature registration supports food safety compliance, so the records exist as a by-product of the installation being online.

One controller for a wellness installation built from twenty suppliers

Challenge
A wellness installation is a swimming pool, often with fountains and jet pumps, plus a hot tub, a steam room, a sauna and a solarium. Every heater, valve, pump and sensor in it comes from a different manufacturer with its own specification. SwimControl, a Belgian specialist in bespoke installations, wanted to stop compromising on components in order to keep the control system manageable.
What we built
We developed the Mecodo pool control as four modules that can drive any combination of wellness components between them. BlueCherry.io connectivity turns the controller into a serviceable device. It sends notifications, alarms and data logs, exposes one interface across desktop, tablet and phone, and integrates with home automation, lighting and access control.
Result
SwimControl now picks the best component for each function instead of the most convenient one, and reaches integration levels that were not previously practical. Because the controller reports its own condition, the company resolves developing faults before they become failures. It launched remote monitoring of wellness installations as a service it could not previously offer. Mecodo also supplies pre-configured controls to third party installers, who send a component list and receive a matching configuration.

Every system on the bridge, reporting from the North Sea

Challenge
Ships operate in harsh conditions, far from help, and every engine, bridge instrument and piece of nautical electronics has to keep working. The Belgian and Dutch partnership of Omni-C and De Boer Marine needed a single device that everything on board could connect to, so installations could be managed, maintained and repaired remotely and in time.
What we built
We developed the VISTools Concentrator. Bridge systems are wired to it directly, wireless sensors cover the systems away from the bridge and the engines in the engine room, and instruments for marine research connect alongside them. Stored measurements are transmitted, in whole or in part at the owner request, over satellite through BlueCherry to stakeholders ashore.
Result
The Concentrator is in service on fishing boats, in the offshore industry, in merchant shipping and in recreational boating. It carries AIS, GPS position, speed, compass, catch data, engine temperatures and revolutions, battery voltage, weather station readings, course, crew position, fuel consumption, camera images, and temperature and humidity on board. ILVO uses the same platform for scientific work, including the VISTools project that turns a fishing vessel into a data platform.

Birth Watch: A sensor that lets a breeder sleep through the night

A sensor that lets a breeder sleep through the night

Challenge
Foaling is the critical event in equine breeding, and monitoring it has traditionally meant surveillance cameras, stall alarms and, most often, sleepless nights. Breeders and veterinarians needed to know the moment it starts without keeping watch for weeks.
What we built
Birth Watch attaches to the mare halter and uses a set of sensors to recognise the specific lying patterns that precede foaling. It is built on Walter, which puts the cellular radio and a 9.8 microamp sleep current into one already certified module, and that is what makes a halter-mounted sensor running on a battery practical. When the pattern appears, Walter raises an alert through the BlueCherry IoT platform to the breeder phone, with the real-time data and notifications that make the alert trustworthy rather than merely loud.
Result
The device is now used by horse breeders worldwide, on thoroughbred operations and in small family stables alike, because it is non-invasive and needs no expertise to fit. Breeders are present when their mares foal without having to be awake for every night that leads up to it.
